the hundred-foot journey

right now, chef meets girl is more like… just girl. the chef’s gone (for a month!) doing a rotation at a hospital out of town (like, way out of town!). he’ll be back by october, but i miss him like crazy. cooking just isn’t as fun without him.

before he left we went on a movie date and the flim was so good, i had to share!

THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY

we saw the hundred-foot journey, and looooved it. i mean, it was produced by steven speilberg and oprah winfrey. you shouldn’t even need to watch the trailer after that.

the movie was sweet, sad and funny. the characters were perfect and it had the perfect ending. it’s a great movie for family or date night!

one major flaw true foodies will catch, though: the main character makes hollandaise with olive oil instead of butter. uhhh, that’s not possible, dude! if you want to know how to really make hollandiase, check out our how-to over here.

we’re totally loving all the culinary movies that have been hitting theaters lately. it’s kind of a trend to be a foodie these days, but i can assure you, my chef was way ahead of the curve. we’re happy america loves food so much these days — and hope the foodie films keep coming!

if oprah and steven speilberg weren’t enough convincing, here’s that trailer…
