the tree is decorated, the presents are wrapped and cinnamon chip cookies are in the oven (i’ve eaten three batches this week already; i definitely need a post holiday diet).
about that “garland”… we got ornaments, but forgot to buy hooks. so whats a girl (who doesn’t want to go back out again tonight, but does want to decorate the tree) to do? well, the chef suggested baker’s twine… and it worked perfectly! as you can see, i went a little baker’s twin crazy on the presents, too.
check out these perfectly perfect, brand new shiny brite recreations! it was like the heavens opened up when i found these little guys. i just love them. my mom has tons of the originals, wwii era, that belonged to my great-grand mother. these new ones are made from the same molds, and in the same style as the old ones – just with a modern color twist.
i have been having so much fun wrapping presents this year. it may be my favorite part of the holidays. besides the cookies. have i mentioned the cinnamon chip cookies? please, someone, come take them away from me.
i’m so thankful for all of the presents we have under our tree – but even more so for the chef i get to spend the holidays with. he’s sweet, he’s kind and he makes me dinner almost every single night.
but… there may be a jadeite cake stand i have my eye on. 😉
what are you hoping for under your christmas tree this year?
