clearly the best time to visit new orleans is the dead of summer. all the humidity you could ask for! even better when you’re in the thick of your first trimester and can’t for the life of you — or your loving husband, who is probably so sick of holding your hair back — stop throwing up.
okay, so i’m being a little whiny. it wasn’t all bad! the amazing airbnb we rented was gorgeous, extra roomy and came with a big fat pool to keep big fat me nice and cool. plus, there was shave ice. so much shave ice!
hansen’s sno-bliz is obviously the best stop if you want green tea covered in condensed milk, like the chef, but if you’re more of a normal person (ahem), you have to get their homemade pineapple flavor!! i could eat this every day. half pineapple, half grape. the obvious choice.
if i took this picture today, there’s no way you’d see those shoes.
we went to new orleans (as if we needed a reason!) to meet up with steven’s sister, cami, and her husband, hong. they live in the bay area, so perfect place to meet in the kind-of middle.
this pregnant lady got to enjoy zero oysters. major bummer.
oh my poor baby girl!!!! Hang in there toots
