guys. i have a major problem. what you’re about to see is likely the tenth batch of cinnamon chip cookies i’ve eaten this winter. not that i’m getting married in a strapless, sleeveless wedding dress in the next few months or anything… but how long do you have to spend on the elliptical to burn these babies off???
the chef has a million recipes for a million different desserts, but in my opinion, you just shouldn’t mess with a classic. if imitation is the most sincere form of flattery — our kitchen has been singing the praises of martha stewart all winter long.
this is her recipe for the perfect chewy chocolate cinnamon chip cookie.
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups cinnamon chips
preheat the oven to 350. cream the butter and both sugars in a mixer. reduce speed and add the vanilla, salt and eggs. finally, whisk together flour and baking soda, add to mixer mixture.
eat a few cinnamon chips. add the rest to the dough.
drop cookie dough on cookie sheet two inches apart. pop in oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
let cool on wire rack.
luckily for my waistline i just finished off the last bag of cinnamon chips.
now if only i could make salads taste like these cookies…
too long!!!!
