gentry miyoko nakano joined our family tuesday, september 18, 2018.
we went to the hopsital for a scheduled induction, but it turned out i was already in labor, contracting every three minutes and dilating quickly. i had no idea. the medical staff started pitocin, gave me an epidural and told me to push. she was born at 4:39 p.m., after pushing through four contractions.
in stark contrast to her sister, gentry — or gigi as mila says — was born with a head full of dark hair and dark eyes. she totally takes after her dad, while mila favors me with blonde hair and blue eyes. it’s incredible to see how, even in just 48 hours, these two babies are different in so many ways.
our stay at the hospital was short and sweet. like a total pro, and with the confidence that only comes from already having one baby and not completely ruining her, steven gave gentry her first bath in our post partum room. she hated it. but omg those little tiny feet and that teeeeeeny diaper. swoon.
i love her sweet, soft hair and buttery skin.
she’s so tiny, every outfit we have for her just kind of hangs off, and swaddles completely swallow her. i loooooove how tiny she is. she makes mila seem like a ten-year-old and makes me feel incredibly strong. ; )
